SPACE @ Smart Cities: SCISYS supports the Smart City Alliance Dortmund

20th November 2018

SCISYS Deutschland GmbH joins the Smart City Alliance Dortmund.

The 2016 founded initiative of Dortmund Chamber of Commerce and Industry, City of Dortmund and the Leitstelle Energiewende Dortmund (L.E.D.) aims to establish Ruhr Area’s largest city as an international Smart City.

According to the motto “We.Build.Future” (Wir.Machen.Zukunft) several companies from economy, science and research team up to realise projects about intelligent networking and digitalisation in the city area.

Twelve pilot projects on the six top topics energy, mobility and logistics, man and demographic change, IT-platforms and citizens’ service, security plus urban infrastructure and (air)port have already been launched and are ready to be realised by various teams of experts.SCISYS intends to support the alliance with its wide-ranging experiences from the space sector.

That especially applies to future projects and cooperations, to which the know-how of satellite communication, earth observation, meteorology and satellite navigation can contribute to new everyday applications and services.
