SCISYS wins contract for the continuation and further enhancement of Galileo Ground Mission Segment (GMS) elements17th December 2018
SCISYS Deutschland GmbH has been awarded a contract with Thales Alenia Space France for the continuation and further enhancement of four Galileo Ground Mission Segment (GMS) elements.
SCISYS’s Space division in Germany will continue the evolution and maintenance of four key elements within the GMS under the Full Operational Capability phase, and additionally to take over a component of the Mission Key Management Facility (MKMF). This involves enhanced functions, improved security and cyber resilience capabilities in the next phase of the Galileo programme.
The Galileo Mission Segment (GMS) is the heart of the Galileo satellite navigation system. It comprises a global network of sensor stations to monitor the signals from the satellites, a chain of Earth stations to uplink navigation data to the satellites, parallel communications networks, and a complex sequence of processing elements.
Thales Alenia Space is the prime contractor to the European Space Agency. This significant order underlines SCISYS Space’s position as an expert software supplier to Galileo and as a long-standing partner of Thales Alenia Space.
