Case Study: WDR

THE CHALLENGE

WDR wanted to strengthen its services by unifying news planning for its 11 regions. Each location independently produces and broadcasts a half-hour evening television newscast (Mon-Sat). A story produced in one location often has relevance to another regional studio.

THE SOLUTION

SCISYS Media Solution’s expertise was needed to translate the concepts of the new infrastructure into technological reality. The live system was implemented in parallel with staff training enabling fast project turnaround.

THE WORKFLOW

OpenMedia serves as the bi-directional metadatabase and planning system for the entire radio and television workflow for all WDR regions. A MOS gateway for RadioCMS dira! with Highlander-ActiveX was implemented to ensure a smooth workflow.

KEY BENEFITS

+ Cross Media Planning
+ Fully configurable
+ Dynamic Updating
+ Third-Party Integrations
+ MOS Compliance
+ Stable and robust Performance
